Course Details

Learn how to use drawing and mark-making for visual journalling, to draw out your inner guidance and resources, and bring a creative form of wellness into your daily life.

Lara Phillips, a creative facilitator trained in Interactive Drawing Therapy, will guide you through simple practices that open our subconscious; a resource we can all tap into, to help ourselves.

Note, this is not therapy or counselling rather a self-care tool that you can integrate alongside other wellbeing practices, such as journalling, walking or meditation.

Each week combines a mix of guided drawings (where you follow cues), practices with others in the group, and self-guided drawings, using knowledge and tools you can take away.

Week 1: Ground

Learn what sits at the heart of this practice, and how to access your subconscious to draw out what it is you need.

Week 2: Wonder

Explore techniques with others in the group, to learn the power of open cues and different ways to listen to your inner voice.

Week 3: Play

Experiment with different ways of playing with your drawings, to stimulate the subconscious to guide you.

Week 4: Self

Apply your knowledge from the workshop to develop self-guiding skills to continue drawings at home.

What is provided: All necessary materials are provided. This includes A3 paper and coloured crayons, as well as printed resources with guiding cues.

What to bring: (Optional) Any preferred journalling materials of choice, such as large journals, coloured markers or coloured pencils. Feel free to bring an A3 folder/case/wallet.

Homework will be offered to help integrate the practice with your personal life. Please note there is no class in the middle week of the course, on Sunday 29th October.
