Inverlochy Art School offers a broad range of high quality art classes and workshops, taught by a community of enthusiastic and talented practicing artists all year round. We believe in art for art's sake and allow students to find freedom in creative exploration.  We have both exhibition and studio space for rent.  We are located within central Te Aro, Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Wellington.

Course Details

Learn basic handbuilding techniques at the historic Inverlochy house.  This eight week course is suitable for beginners and students with some knowledge of clay.

In this course you will:

  • Gain a wide working knowledge and understanding of clay hand building, decorating, and basic glazing techniques
  • Have the opportunity to work on your own ideas and projects
  • Recieve guidance from an award winning Wellington ceramic artist.
  • Take home a variety of finished and ready to use pieces.
  • Have access to equipment, 5kg of clay. (More available for purchase), selection of glazes, fired and finished pieces to take home

* Bring an ice cream or used plastic container for collecting your clay scraps
