Course Details

Start your journey in painting with Sarah Brock. This popular Wednesday evening course is an introductory class for painting in oils. The class is designed to run over four terms, beginning with drawing and an understanding of light and tone then as your confidence and skills develop, progressing into colour and an exploration of personal style - which naturally emerges as experience with painting occurs. 

Working at your own pace, ongoing attendance will help provide you with all the skills necessary to work in paint in the style and genre of your choice. Sarah has a broad knowledge of different approaches to painting and can draw on this to support your personal development as a painter, referring to techniques unique to various genres and periods; for example the glazing techniques used in the Renaissance, or more expressive techniques of the 20th century. 

Class is suitable for all levels of experience, we start from where you are.
