Explore Monoprint with Denise Durkin (Summer School) 2021
Of all the print
making methods, mono printing is the most spontaneous, responsive and
versatile, being the medium for everything from abstract expressionism to hyper
photographic realism. Simple and direct with the minimum of equipment and
media, mono printing is approachable for any age or ability level, yet the
creative potential is unlimited.
Planned here is a four
day workshop to introduce mono printing from simple hand printing, spontaneous
transfer methods through to working with presses and multiple matrices.
For people starting in
printmaking and people already with an art practice in any media. We will
experiment with a whole new method of mark making, transfer and texture to
build skill level and also provide a cross discipline change to invigorate your
existing art practice of painting or drawing.
Also you will be
introduced to a progressive evolution development technique for learning and to
push yourself into new areas of creativity that can be applied to other art
practices and medias.
All basic materials provided.
