Summer - Term 1 (February - April),
Course is fully booked
Throughout this course, Christine Gregory strives to create an instructive and encouraging environment for those students wishing to take their work to the next level.
Each term an overriding theme is chosen -- such as symbolism, Abstraction and Expressionism. Through research and engagement with these themes, students will have the ability to experiment with and develop their painting practice.
Keep on Painting is for new and returning students alike! For new students joining the group, Christine will teach the beginnings of how to paint a landscape based on the student’s own drawings, photographs, memory and imagination. Similarly, returning students will be exposed to equally challenging and rewarding instruction, and can either work on their own projects or follow the class direction.
The techniques of overseas artists including Turner, Cezanne, Matisse, as well as New Zealand artists Toss Woollaston, Colin McCahon and John Drawbridge, will be explored for keys to colour layering, composition and paint handling.
Basic materials are provided.
Please note: We will require all students aged 12 and over to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Please bring your My Vaccine Pass to all classes.
