A great course for those wishing to begin or extend their understanding of drawing, tone and colour using a direct and mess-free medium. Colour pencil and pastel pencils are an excellent media for any subject, from travel sketches to richly coloured finished work. They incorporate methods used in both painting and drawing, such as layering to produce depth of tone and colour and expressive line. Beginning with still life we will progress to landscape (outdoors when possible) and to any subject and style of your choice. We will also experiment with pastel sticks and watercolour pencils. Beginners will be guided with basic drawing techniques and colour mixing. Those with experience will be challenged to see colour and line in new ways. All basic materials provided.
