Black and White Open Studio is an opportunity to extend what you have learnt in the Basic Black and White Photography course. Tuition will be available in the darkroom, or you can just come along and use the darkroom to print and process film, with Mark there to help address individual needs and answer your specific questions. This course is limited to seven students. Chemicals provided. (No class Labour Day Oct 27, make up is Dec 15).

Come behind the camera and back to basics. On this darkroom-based course you will learn camera handling, technique and basic B&W photographic processing including film developing and printing in Inverlochy’s own darkroom. Mark will teach you the fundamentals of taking a picture and developing your film all the way through to making the finished print. Please bring along an SLR camera preferably with manual controls. No experience necessary. One film, half a packet of paper and all chemicals are provided.

An advanced course for students with experience in basic black and white developing techniques. Based in the darkroom, this course introduces the zone system. This system gives you control of the creative process and lets you process your film and prints in a way that fits with your vision. Access to a 35mm camera, preferably with manual controls, is essential. Two films, one packet of paper plus chemicals are provided. This course is ideal for students who have already completed Mark's Basic Black and White Photography course.
