Due to numerous requests I have added a class for teenagers called Drawing and Painting for Teenagers to the holiday programme; we can taking bookings now for all next holiday courses, have a look at the programme. Our School Holiday Programme caters to 6 - 12 year olds while the Painting and Drawing for Teenagers caters to teenagers.

Please note some changes for Term 2:

Janice Kingston is not taking any classes this term; she will be back for term 3.

Basia's Printmaking class has moved from Wednesday Morning to Friday Morning for this term; the Open Studio print on Fridays has moved to Wednesday Morning; the Monday Open Studio print runs as usual.

I have programmed a Painting Open Studio for Friday Mornings.

Simply Silver

Tutor: Sue Shore

Enjoy a term of ‘hands on’ creativity with Sue making jewellery. Beginners will start by learning the basic skills required for making jewellery. You will see demonstrations of various jewellery making techniques and have the help and guidance to make your own pieces of silver jewellery. Returning students can develop their skills using specialist techniques they were introduced to previously. Plus learning new techniques adding colour to silver jewellery and integrating new materials. All specialist tools and equipment are provided.

Sue Shore Tutor profile image

In the UK Sue gained a B ed. Hons degree in Design and Technology. She has been teaching the subject using wood, metal and plastics for 14 years, 9 of which have been in NZ. Sue and two other teachers were authors of a Design and Technology book for the NCEA curriculum published in NZ in 2005. Sue learned her jewellery making skills at Inverlochy Art School. Her jewellery is now sold at a number of galleries and design stores both nationally and internationally. Sue's new design jewellery includes New Zealand flora and fauna made in fine silver and is regularly exhibited at the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts.
