Welcome to Inverlochy Art School

Inverlochy Art School, in central Wellington, offers a range of high quality casual art classes taught by a friendly and welcoming community of enthusiastic and talented practicing artists.

Our popular children's after school classes have resumed with Rowena and Rachel and our September/October holiday programme is up and running. We have Rowena Fry in week one and Cartooning & Zines for Tweens & Teens with Randy Wolf in week 2.

We offer classes for beginners, and ongoing progressive classes for advanced practitioners in drawing, painting, printmaking, illustration and silk screening. Our classes are small and most fees include all materials (check individual classes for details). We have a maximum student limit for each course, giving you the best tutor/student ratio possible.

We also run open studios for groups of artists who wish to meet regularly, or you can use our specialist print studio if you have printmaking experience. Please inquire for further details.

We are located in the atmospheric, grade II listed, historic Inverlochy House in the Te Aro district of Wellington.

We will all do our bit to stop Covid-19. We have contact tracing and a sign in sheet in our foyer for all who enter Inverlochy Art School and please students who are feeling unwell must stay home. Feel free to contact the management team with any queries or concerns you may have. We are here to help.

Screen Printing on Fabric and Paper with Thomas Lynch (Tuesdays 6.30pm to 8.30pm) T4.20

Whether you want to create a piece of fine art or just print your own t-shirts this course is for you. You will learn how to apply images to screens using a range of stencil and photo-emulsion techniques. This enables you to print your own photos and art on to paper, canvas, fabric and t-shirts. Bring along your own design ideas and Thomas will help you bring them to fruition. This course is suitable for beginners while experienced students will be extended.

All basic materials will be provided.

This class has returned to an 8 week cause.
