Anatomy for the Artist (Week Day Workshop) NEW

Can't make weekends? Spend a whole (week) day immersed in this drawing class. This class is a good introduction for figure drawing and will benefit those who have drawn the figure but want a better understanding of the underlying principles.

A good understanding of anatomy is essential for convincing and expressive life drawing, figure painting and portraiture. In this course, we will study the skeleton and major muscle groups as well as develop the skills needed to express structure and form with speed and elegance. Hands and feet will be studied in detail. An understanding of anatomy alone will not create vitality in a work, so we will look at the work of master artists to discover techniques used to suggest and enhance the human form.

Suitable for both beginner and advanced students.
